In a series of tweets shared on Wednesday, Meek Mill offered his thoughts on the reaction to the video of YK Osiris forcing himself on Sukihana.

"Don't do this to him please he a good kid," he wrote alongside a retweet of Sukihana's tweet in which she said she was "hurt" and "scared to stand up for [herself]" following the incident. "Just slap him and he gotta let you something... We don't need our young bulls tore down for mistakes in this hyper sexual era... I support Suki... hold that shit down on some street shit."

Over an hour later, Meek expanded on his thoughts on the situation, and doubled down on his defense of YK. "Y’all drawing a big line between men and women nowadays on social," he wrote. "It’s getting bad in the black community! All this internet superficial shaming, judging gaslighting only hurt us people and it’s alot of people who need strength especially young black men … he might gotta rumble suki brother anything but this same internet tear each other down stuff! Suki can do what she wants she feels violated… but let me mind my business."

In his final tweet on the topic, Meek wrote, "And protect Suki! Osiris you a dh! Go back to church stop following the heathens!"

Meek's tweets led to some people suggesting that he's excusing Osiris' behavior. "Why does protecting BM always come at the expense of BW safety and life," one person tweeted, while another accused Meek of excusing sexual assault.

this suki situation really does highlight how big r*pe culture is. this nigga Meek Mill really said “we don’t need our young bulls tore down for mistakes” and the “mistake” in question is SA. why does protecting BM always come at the expense of BW safety and life. pathetic https://t.co/10KxE5g9Tj

Bro im still thinking about what Meek Mill just said i don’t think Niggas know how harmful it is to openly excuse sexual assault for the sake of keeping the peace in the “community” you’re failing women at the expense of predators.

In the video, which circulated earlier this week, YK Osiris was seen forcefully and repeatedly trying to kiss the Love & Hip Hop: Miami star during a panel at the Crew League basketball tournament in Atlanta without her consent. At one point in the clip, she could be heard telling him to "stop it." He ignored her and attempted to kiss her a second time.

"I am hurt and I am scared to stand up for myself," Sukihana tweeted before deactivating her account. YK Osiris responded to the backlash with what he said is his "sincerest" apology. “In an attempt to be playful, I misread the moment and violated Sukihana's boundaries,” a portion of his Instagram statement reads. “I understand the importance of consent and I am embarrassed by my behavior.” He added that he takes "full responsibility" for the incident.
