UPDATED 6/12, 2:45 p.m. ET: Polo G’s mother and manager, Stacia Mac, has shared on Facebook that she bonded out Polo G and all others detained in Miami, which included at least eight people in his circle, including Polo’s sister Leilani. All are now awaiting processing, according to The Shade Room.

“I’ve also, of course, notified my attorney,” she wrote. “I’ll be relieved when I have everyone out of jail safely. Thank you guys for your support.”

Stacia also wrote on Twitter that “none of these charges would be possible if the POLICE did not make contact with my son Polo G.”

None of these charges would be possible if the POLICE did not make contact with my son Polo G!!! He was NOT the driver. He was a PASSENGER in a professionally licensed vehicle with security. He was moving smart and correctly. What more could he have done. https://t.co/pXSgxP0ukz

Polo G was arrested in Miami and booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 8 a.m. Saturday, facing charges of battery on a police officer, resisting arrest with violence and criminal mischief, according to the Miami Herald

The chart-topping Chicago MC, named Taurus Bartlett, reportedly has a bond of $19,500 over his five charges.

News of the arrest first hit Saturday morning when Polo’s mother and manager, Stacia Mac, shared on Instagram that police pulled over Polo and his younger brother while leaving a release party for his third album Hall of Fame. She alleged that police “made it difficult for her to check on her children” and “stopped them because they were driving while Black.”

“My kids called me in a frenzy saying the police are behind them, 20 cars behind them,” she said, adding that “They refused to let me speak to my minor son, who is 16 years old.”

The Miami Police Department is aware of the incident involving Mr. Taurus Bartlett, also known as Polo G,  and another male juvenile. We will provide updates as they become available.
