The 10 Best Club Nights in the US

Where: Denver, CO

This crew is basically the main tour stop for all things "bass" related headed towards the West Coast. Nicole Cacciavillano (aka Mz2Phresh) is the head of the organization and runs two nights a week: Electronic Tuesdays at Cervantes Ballroom, and Bassic Fridays at Beatport's club, Beta. She also runs tons of one-offs and hosts stages at festivals throughout Colorado, and her NYE 2012 show brought about 10,000 deep. Her Friday weekly also boasts the home of the 3x yearly residency of a certain 12th Planet.

Sub.Mission

Where: Houston, TX

This event company launched in 2006, and has continuously booking quality acts. They aren't focusing on what' popular or what's selling tickets elsewhere. They bring in the best musicians they can find. Their sound is top-notch, and they have pulled in respected DJs including Machinedrum, Dieselboy, Caspa, AC Slater, and many more.

Where: NYC

Deep Space is a weekly dedicated to the future of dub. With a quality sound system to provide the proper highs and lows to compliment the music they cater to, Cielo's Deep Space night is helmed by Francios K manning the decks with a guest; current line-ups include Goth-Trad and Dam-FunK. One of the premiere spots in NYC for the deeper side of EDM.

Deep Space

Where: Atlanta, GA

Atlanta is one of the hotspots in the US for bass music, and Atlanta Bass Wars is one of the meccas. The ABW crew boasts accomplished DJs and MCs, including Legion, Trench, and Armanni Reign, and have recently launched "Sound Pressure Thursdays" this month, boasting a line-up that included MUST DIE!, Mayhem, and The Killabits. They get dirty in the Dirty, and this is the place to be.

Atlanta Bass Wars

Where: NYC

While many of EDM's newest fans tend to be into high-octane styles like dubstep and electro house, for those who have are looking for something different, Verboten NYC offers just that. Bringing in sounds that range from soothing deep house to bone rattling techno, Verboten caters to the 21+, underground-oriented crowd. Walk into these parties and you'll be safe from any Skrillex or Tiësto invading your earspace with names like Carl Craig, Seth Troxler, Jaime Jones, Maya Jane Coles, Nic Faniciulli rocking the decks. With it's high-caliber yet diverse lineups and an excellent reputation, Verboten is one of the key figures in educating NYC's dance scene.

Where: Washington, DC

Moombahton Massive is a legendary night for fans of moombahton, started by Dave Nada, Matt Nordstrom, and Sabo, and Tittsworth came up with the idea to make it a bigger deal, filling the 500-person capacity U-Hall in DC. In true "massive" form, they brought the moombahton sound to as many hardcore fans as possible, and the brand has struck a chord: variations on Moombahton Massive have taken place at HARD's Day of the Dead festival, the Winter Music Conference, and have even gone overseas, to Berlin.

There's basically been no competition for this night; Respect LA has been the premiere place to witness drum & bass legends in Southern California for about 13 years, and has since been crowned the longest running drum and bass night in LA. Their special event collaboratives with local dubstep heavyweights SMOG and Bassrush solidifies just that. Thursday nights were made for RESPECT.

Where: Hollywood, CA

Friday nights for EDM in Hollywood are found at the landmark Avalon, where CONTROL blends many forms of dance music for the heads out there. They stay on the cutting edge, with their current and forthcoming events featuring Adrian Lux, Congorock, 12th Planet, Borgore, and many more.

While venues like Pacha, Space, and Marquee will always take in many of the world's hottest house and trance DJs, Alex English has made Friday nights at Webster Hall a religion. For many, the night's often fresh talent is enough to forgive the venue's rustic feel. Dubstep, drum & bass, electro, doesn't matter. If it makes you groove, you can find it there. With it's fair prices and fresh talent, it's no wonder this 126-year-old relic still brings in crowds from all over the tri-state area.

Girls & Boys

Where: Los Angeles, CA

SMOG is a major part of the bass music scene in the US. Starting out in 2006 as an experiment in bringing dubstep to the LA area, it's morphed into a premiere label, helmed by 12th Planet and boasting a roster that includes Noah D, Flinch, Antiserum, and many others. If you want to know what's hot within the dubstep scene, and are in LA, you would be playing yourself if you didn't hit a SMOG night.
