CupcakKe is back.

Back in September, CupcakKe told fans that she would be stepping away from music. "This is not a 'I'm done now situation' and then two weeks later she's dropping a song, or a month later, or three months later," she said at the time in an IG update. "I am completely done with music. I want to be normal again."

Earlier that same year, CupcakKe received words of support from fellow artists after she revealed she had been "fighting with depression" for a long time. "I'm finally getting the help that I need to get through, be happy, and deliver great music," she said in January 2019.

In December, she announced she had signed a new deal, followed by the release of new single "Lawd Jesus" (produced by Fantom) on Friday.

Prior to "Lawd Jesus," CupcakKe's most recent releases included an appearance on a "Ripe" remix from Banoffee's Look at Us Now Dad project and her own take on Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road." Her most recent full-length project was the 12-track 2018 release Eden.
