Since he burst into our lives back in 2014, grime MC Novelist's work rate and quality control have never faltered. This year, however, he's taking that to the extreme as he vows to release a new single every single week for the rest of the year.

First out the gates is the appropriately-titled "Active", a late-night cruiser that backs his slow-and-low flow with a sparse and eerie instrumental from the man himself. This one also comes with a video that tracks Nov and his boys as they roll through the dimly-lit city streets in their blacked-out whip, setting the scene for his 2020 takeover.

According to his Instagram, it looks as if the first six tracks will be collected together as a project called Inferno— dropping January 20—with production coming from Prem, Sus and Novelist. It also looks as if there'll be more announcements and surprises on the way, so keep up with the rest of the 52WeeksOfFire project here.

You can also catch his headline show on February 16 at London's Village Underground.
