Frank Ocean is back with a new single called "In My Room."
The track is a little different from the normal Frank that we've become accustomed to. His new influences are clear on this one.
“I’ve been interested in club, and the many different iterations of nightlife for music and songs," the artist told W Magazine in September. "And so the things I look at now have a lot to do with those scenes: Detroit, Chicago, techno, house, French electronic."
This is his second single since he shared "DHL" last month. Boys Noize, the producer of the slow-burning track, told Complex that the track just sort of happened during a recording session in Berlin.
“It was basically us playing around and creating something in the moment,” he said. “I didn’t even think about making music at that point. We were all together and it just happened.”
Ocean has been pretty quiet since 2017, but it looks like he's back to making hits. Fans were listening to his last album, Blonde, in 2016.
Judging from the eagle-eyed fans on YouTube, there are 15 more songs on the way. "On the bottom of the album cover, there are 17 silhouettes," one person noted in the comments section. "There are two silhouettes that match this cover and the DHL cover. So siced for those 15 other songs to droppp."
The song is available on Apple Music.
