The track, produced by Jamaican-based artist Rvssian, serves as the latest single off French’s third studio album Montana. The Morocco-born artist shared the project’s cover art and trailer earlier this week on social media, confirming it would arrive in November.
“Writing on the Wall” is the follow-up to 2017’s Jungle Rules. French told Angie Martinez that the project was slated to drop on Nov. 9, coinciding with his 35th birthday.
“As far as this album I’m more excited that I’m able to have the right people around me to keep me grounded and help me make the best music that I can make,” he told Entertainment Weekly back in May. “I never really sat anywhere and made an album before. I was always all over the place — different studios, different cities … and now that I can stay stable in one studio and make music. It’s about to be dangerous. It’s about to be very dangerous.”
You can stream “Writing on the Wall” now Apple Music and Spotify.
The record arrives just a day after French was announced as the first ambassador of I Stand With Immigrants—a campaign initiative powered by immigration advocacy group FWD.us.
