UPDATED 10/28, 10:25 a.m. ET: The misdemeanor battery charges against Dave East have been dropped, the rapper's attorney, Stacey Richman, tells TMZ.
East received charges last month following an altercation with two women that took place in his hotel room. Initially, it was reported as a threesome that went awry, but the rapper explained in a conversation with The Morning Hustle radio show that no sex was involved. He also claimed that the women were the aggressors in the altercation.
Richman also submitted medical documentation that states her client received a concussion from the fight. This helped get the charges dropped because the injuries proved that East "attempted to responsibly quell the situation."
Following news that the charges were dropped, Dave East revealed he lost a movie roll over the situation, and also called out TMZ. "I TOLD YALL I WAS INNOCENT 🤷🏽♂️HOW IMA FUCC UP A 3SOME SHITTIN ME LOST A WHOLE MOVIE ROLE OVER THIS FAKE NEWS," he wrote on Twitter. "ITS ALL GOOD CANT STOP WHAT ALLAH GOT PLANNED. OH YEAH @TMZ SUCC MY DICC..GOD BLESS & SHOUTS TO MY LAWYER U DA ILLEST."

Dave East has been cited for battery after a night in Las Vegas reportedly went sour
According to TMZ, East took two women back to his hotel room following a performance on Saturday night and what happened next is a matter of debate. One woman claims that she got into an argument with East while they were having sex, with East punching her several times. She said she ran into the bathroom to call the police. East, on the other hand, said that the woman started the argument because she felt she wasn't getting enough of the rapper's attention. East told police that she began hurling bottles across the room at him, leaving him with cuts on his arms and legs that were noted in the police report. East also claims he caught a bottle to the head and underwent a CAT scan following the incident.
There are other witnesses who were not involved in the threesome and they are also split on what exactly happened. A woman who walked into the room said that East was the one who started a fight, while another man who happens to be East's friend saw nothing but thrown bottles. Both East and the woman were cited for battery.
East's lawyer, Stacey Richman, told Complex that the only thing East did to the woman was grab her by the arm and remove her from the hotel room.
"The woman threw a soap dispenser and bottles of champagne at Dave. One of the bottles shattered on the wall, sending glass flying and cutting Dave. Another bottle hit Dave with force in the head. The woman sought to continue her assault. Dave did not respond with violence. Instead Dave was concerned for everyone's safety." Richman explained. "Dave justifiably took the woman by the arm and put her out of the room. Dave did not assault anyone. He was ordered by his doctor to get CAT scan after the incident. We are waiting on the results. It was later learned that the woman had secreted Dave’s phones in her handbag.”
