The track arrived Thursday afternoon with the release of its official video, which was shot inside Madrid's world-famous Hotel Puerta America. The sleek, avant-garde setting compliments the song's overall vibe, as it's relatively softer than Jhay's previous releases, but manages to retain a catchy energy.
"'Deséame Suerte' is that song that reminds you that you can’t have everything whenever you want or however you want. Sometimes you just have to let things flow—the track has sweet melodies but also a strong message," Cortez told Complex about the Fino Como El Haze-produced record. "I'm mad happy to be able to collab with an artist like Karol G and being able to have her on a song like 'Deséame Suerte.'"
Karol G adds, "From the first time I heard the track, I knew from the jump that it was going to be a hit and I thought the song was incredible. I love that it's a romantic one. There have been very few times that I've heard Jhay in that vibe so it's a privilege to be able to give our fans something for the soul. Really happy to be on this collaboration!"
You can check out the song's official video above. The single arrives months after Jhay and Karol dropped their respective albums Famouz and Ocean.
Karol spoke to Complex back April, explaining the significance behind the Ocean title, her love for Rihanna, and her engagement.
