Toronto's Amaal Returns with Stunning "Not What I Thought" Video
The video was directed by Sean Brown and shot in Iceland.
It's been a little while since we heard from Amaal but thankfully the captivating Toronto-based singer is back with a new single and accompanying visual that will take your breath away.
"Not What I Thought" is a powerful R&B ballad about the end of a relationship which asks the difficult question of how an intimate partner can become a stranger. The song on its own is beautiful but the video is truly a treat for the eyes and ears: directed by multidisciplinary creative Sean Brown (known for his work with Daniel Caeser), the video perfectly translates the longing feeling of the track by depicting Amaal alone amidst the vast and unforgiving Icelandic landscape.
