Ahead of Kanye West’s forthcoming project Yandhi, a new song titled “Idk" has arrived. Listen below:
The yet-to-be released Yandhi was initially slated to drop on Sept. 29. During a visit to theTMZ offices earlier this month, Ye explained why it didn't. “I didn't finish it. A person from my management staff, our management staff, had suggested because the album is so good, it's my...I started incorporating sounds that you never heard before and pushing it, and having like, concepts that people don't, you know, talk about.”
Later, a number of rumors cited that Yandhi was expected to arrive on Oct. 2 for Gandhi’s birthday, but Kim Kardashian revealed that the actual release date for Ye’s ninth solo album would be Nov. 23, or Black Friday. Ye revealed during his visit to TMZ that he was finishing the project in Africa, drawing inspiration from returning home to Chicago and feeling the energy of his hometown.
Kanye said “we're going to Africa in two weeks to record.” He continued, “I felt this energy when I was in Chicago, I felt the roots. But we have to go to what is known as Africa. I need to go, I need to find out what it’s really called. Just grab the soil and be and cook food, five meals a day so the metabolism stays up, have my kids in the studio, have the mic out in the open so you can hear nature while we’re recording.”
