Kevin Gates has released the video for "Vouch," a record taken from his post-prison three song release Chained to the City, which dropped back in May. The Julien Soulier-directed visual finds the Baton Rouge rapper pulling up to Watts, California, where the locals show him love. San Antonio Spurs star and California native DeMar DeRozan also makes a cameo.
"Vouch" showcases Gates' raw lyricism as he makes a case for being good no matter where he goes. "I'm really that, the streets a vouch, the people vouch/The jail a vouch, all the niggas in the feds a vouch/We held it down while in the drought, one of my cells a vouch/I'm standin' out, when it's beef, I'm never standin' down," he raps over Go Grizzly production.
Gates previously released videos for "Let It Sing" and "Change Lanes," the latter of which was directed by Cole Bennett.
While Gates has kept a relatively low profile since being released from prison, he's been putting in work in the studio, and that's chronicled in the behind-the-scenes video below.
