Zaytoven, the pioneering Atlanta producer for Gucci Mane, Future, Migos, and many others, is teaming up with Lecrae for a joint project titled Let the Trap Say Amen. Zay, a known innovator of the trap sound, and Lecrae, who is shaking off the term “Christian rapper” these days, are having their worlds collide for the sake of new rhythms, delivering the bouncy “Get Back Right” as their first single earlier this month to a positive reception. Continuing their momentum, Complex is premiering their second collaboration, “Plugged In."

Lecrae takes a different approach on Zay's piano-driven, 808-heavy production, deciding to give game to the hustlers who depend on a reliable plug. In Lecrae’s case, he’s telling his musical collaborators what to do with their money instead of investing it on unnecessary things. “In this industry for years, never sold my soul, yeah/Gave them real estate investments instead of buying gold, yeah,” he raps, adding, “I told ‘em, ‘Buy a business get a house, take the money rinse it out’/And they put all that cheese in the trap/Because they don’t want you to get out/And you can hit the jeweler and buy six chains or you can start a barbershop and expand to six chains.”

"I’ve been in the game for a while. The biggest accolades aren’t the Grammys for me," Lecrae told Complex via email. "It’s creating opportunities for people. 'Plugged In' is me giving back some game that I’ve picked up."

The song might remind you of the advice Jay Z gave out on 4:44. Whereas Hov is the OG passing down knowledge from experience, Lecrae is your faithful homie telling it to you like it is before it's too late. Take his advice and do it big for your future kids.

You can listen to “Plugged In” above. Let the Trap Say Amen drops June 22 and is available for pre-order here.
