The most anticipated sequel since Blade Runner 2049 will finally enter existence next month.
Swae Lee confirmed a January 2018 release window for Rae Sremmurd's SremmLife 3 at this weekend's Rolling Loud SoCal festival, where he and Slim Jxmmi ripped through performances of previous classics from SremmLife 1 and 2. They also previewed a new song from SremmLife 3 exclusively for the San Bernardino crowd.
"SremmLife 3 coming in January," Swae Lee confirmed to Revolt TV. "The hottest music on the fucking planet, you feel me? The planet . . . the whole planet." The duo also touted the January 2018 at Offset's birthday throwdown.
The third entry in the SremmLife saga breaks from the release pattern of the first two, which were released just one year apart in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Speaking with XXL back in October to mark the publication's 20th anniversary, Swae and Slim detailed what they feel is Sremmurd's role in hip-hop.
"Like, right now in hip-hop, one of the roles we play is just, like, bringing the good vibes, the crazy production," Swae said. "Just riding the beats crazy. The good, fun energy. It just makes you want to move around as soon as the song come on, [like] 'Oh, that's 'No Flex Zone.'"
Producer Mike Will Made-It, who most often provides the beats in question, recently teased the SremmLife 3 vibes on Instagram:
May the SremmLife franchise never end.
