Kris Wu and Travis Scott connect over a Louis Bell beat on the new collaboration "Deserve." You can check out the video above. Kris Wu teased the global appeal of the track during an interview with Zane Lowe.

"So I had a sound camp, I think it was last year, over the summer," Kris told Zane of how the innovative collaboration first started brewing. "So great producers, writers, you know, everyone, we're vibing. And then one of the homies said that he had reached out to Travis Scott, and he was actually in New York. Then we threw out this idea of collaborating and he was really down. He flew out from New York to L.A. and then we met in the studio, kicking it, vibe out a little bit, and then we just got on the record and made this amazing record." Indeed.

For Kris, making an effort to be in the same room with your collaborators is a crucial step in songwriting. "That's so important for me," he said. "You know, I'm based still in China, in Beijing. I try to fly out every time when I make music. I think it's so important that you wanna be in the room with these people making music together, because that's what it’s all about, especially hip-hop music. I feel like you gotta be vibing. With the right energy, everything comes along."

Kris Wu's status as a wildly successful multi-hyphenate is bolstered by his starring roles in a marathon of Chinese box office smashes. With this year's xXx: Return of Xander Cage, the actor/singer (and former EXO member) made his Hollywood debut as DJ Harvard Zhou.
