The last time we heard from Kelela she appeared alongside Danny Brown on the latest Gorillaz album, Humanz. It's been a while since we've heard new solo stuff from her, though, but now she's finally back proper with a new single. "LMK" is the first single from her forthcoming debut album, Take Me Apart, which is due October 6 via Warp Records.

Following on from 2015's Hallucinogen, Kelela revealed to Zane Lowe that she's been working on Take Me Apart for four years. To coincide with the world premiere of the new single, Kelela spoke with Zane Lowe on Beats 1. Speaking about the producers on the upcoming album, she revealed that Arca and Jam City are "anchoring" the album, producing the bulk of the record. She also spoke about who she's really enjoying at the moment, mentioning Syd in particular. She also mentioned that she's very excited about the prospective of a remix record in the near future, mentioning that she's saved a bunch of stuff back for a potential remix record that approaches the album from a different angle.

Listen to "LMK" and her brief interview with Zane Lowe below.
