The effects of leaving the European Union are already starting to show.
The pound is at its lowest level in over 30 years, David Cameron has resigned and Scotland are already talking about a new Independence Referendum. As the results showed, young people overwhelmingly voted to remain in the EU, though their efforts were ultimately drowned out by older generations. We've already discussed how this will affect our various sport and entertainment industries, and it's not looking good. So we turned to some of the leading figures in the UK music industry to see what they're all saying and thinking in the wake of the results.
First we spoke to Faze Miyake and Trim to hear how the results will impact them as artists and as people.
Faze Miyake: "I've tried to make a difference with each vote I've had in the past 8 years. I've been let down every time. And other people who seem to not care at first get all shook up after the result, but it's really no joke. I feel like this affects what I do and affects our generation more than anyone, so I wish more people from our generation spoke about it. It's not like we're taught about this in school, and I've never really trusted politicians, but it's good to be able to know when to make a wise decision and if I can help influence one I will. But big up London. Not sure about the rest of England, though."
Trim: "I believe us leaving the EU is going to affect artists going to different countries to perform, and it also affects our relationships with other countries. I don't think the outcome is what the people wanted—it was what the government wanted! As an artist, it makes me feel as though we never had a say and never will. This is something that would've happened without us, regardless. It also feels like England's taken a leap back in to the 17th century."
