Adele's epic comeback track "Hello" spurned endless reactions including a Rick Ross remix, a marching band perfectly playing the song, and even jokes about the use of a flip phone for the video. The greatest joke of all might have been the connection made between Adele's new track and Lionel Richie's 1984 hit also titled "Hello."

It turns out, we may be getting an Adele and Lionel Richie collaboration after all. In an interview with E! News, Richie described the huge reaction he got of friends calling him after Adele dropped "Hello." He even joined the viral joke of the meme by posting it to his own Instagram.

The connection brought both artists names into the same sentence, which could likely turn into a real life collaboration. "We are going to be doing something together—that's already almost in the works...I can almost say that we are talking, but right now she has a mission. Her mission is [to] get her record out and go on tour, so until she finishes that cycle, that won't happen just yet. She is committed to that." So, thank you internet for helping to make this happen. Until then, we can all enjoy this on repeat.
