2015 has brought Nirvana and the late Kurt Cobain back to the forefront. Following the release of the documentary about Kurt Cobain's life, Montage of Heck, previously unseen and unheard footage came to light including pre-Nirvana demos, photos from the band's first band practice and solo songs from Kurt.
Universal Music has now confirmed they will be releasing an official soundtrack for Montage Of Heck this fall that will accompany the DVD/Blu-ray release of the documentary. The full-length LP being labeled as a "solo album" from will include recordings featured in the film as well as previously unheard material ranging "from thrash to ragtime and everything in between." Montage Of Heck director Brett Morgen previously told Bedford + Bowery "Just to be clear, it’s not a Nirvana album, it’s just Kurt and you’re going to hear him do things you never expected to come out of him."
Look for the still-untitled album and the DVD/Blu-ray to both be released Nov. 6.
