Future’s DS2 is projected to be a No. 1 record with sales forecasts between 125,000 to 135,000 copies in the first week. As if the wins weren’t already stacking up for him, Vic Mensa decided to dedicate some time in his set to cover Future’s Monster closer “Codeine Crazy" at P4K yesterday. The song has been a cult classic since the whole #FutureHive thing sprang up, and here Mensa does it justice with his own take. He exchanges the production of TM 88 for his live band’s minimalist approach. Overall, it’s pretty dope. Given that Future is performing fan appreciation shows this week; maybe we’ll see him cover a Vic song?
