There are few things on which all hip-hop fans agree, and too often the consensus arrives well after the fact (for example, it is indeed possible to revere both Biggie and Tupac in equal measure). Anointing one rapper as the best of his generation will never be an open and shut case, but when we scan the current hip-hop landscape, there is one artist who looms so large over the competition we sometimes have to crane our necks to get a proper look at him.
