Scales 925 is the name of T.I.'s new restaurant in downtown Atlanta. He just celebrated its opening on Friday with Tiny and Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed. According to its website, it is "a restaurant that wants to be known for it’s offering of a brilliant and unexpected mix of southern cuisine, stunning design and an unforgettable experience." In other words, it's lit.
Tip is noted as the restaurant's principal and co-founder, providing creative direction for the establishment. Chef Ashley, who was his personal chef for some time, will be the head chef and the "culinary partner," whatever that means. The cuisine itself looks to be an interpretation of soul food–fried chicken, greens, grits, etc. The Rubberband Man joins the league of rappers who have flipped their musical success into business ventures. Let's see how this one pans out.
The place opens to the public on April 18.
