Heavy and danceable, Danzig's 1988 (later remixed and re-released in 1993) single "Mother" is non-intentionally one of heavy metal's most uniquely four-on-the-floor friendly tracks ever. It has a sweep and swing in its composition, while Glenn Danzig's dark and sensual lyrics feel as though they're straight out of the disco, too. When Washington, DC's Wave Age explores the empty spaces in the track and adds a thin, yet insistent bottom end, heavy atmospherics and a steamy, horn-friendly melody, the free-to-download track loses none of it's edge and is still a winner. Feeling like the house remix for the now over 25-year-old metal/pop classic that Rick Rubin's Def American neglected to make, it's a great jump out of the blocks for the newcomer from the Nation's Capital.
