According to Page Six, the upcoming Lifetime Aaliyah biopic will reportedly detail the late singer's relationship with R. Kelly, which includes their secret marriage when Aaliyah was 15 and R. Kelly was 27. The marriage was denied by the couple at the time, but a marriage license eventually surfaced, revealing they falsified Aaliyah's age on the document.
Disney star Zendaya Coleman is set to play Aaliyah in the upcoming biopic. Aaliyah's family has publicly stated that they are against the making of the film, and that they will block any attempt to use Aaliyah's music in the production. The script of the film is based off of Christopher R. Farley's Aaliyah biography, Aaliyah: More Than a Woman. Stay tuned for more details as they are made available.
