Legendary radio personality and the original host of American Top 40, Casey Kasem, has passed away. His daughter, Kerri Kasem, reported the news on her official Facebook account this morning. Kasem was suffering from Parkinson's disease and was taken off of life support earlier this week by his children.

The final months of Kasem's life were marred by an ugly legal battle between Kasem's wife, Jean Kasem, and his children. Kasem's children from his previous marriage claimed that Jean Kasem was denying them access to see their father. Along with hosting American Top 40, Kasem was also the voice of Shaggy on Scooby Doo.
