Jamaican-born track-and-field star Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has joined the luxury watch brand Richard Mille as its newest brand ambassador.

Announcing the news via Instagram, the 36-year-old sprinting champion is set on enhancing her collection of medals at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. It will be here that Fraser-Pryce will proudly sport the new RM 07-04 Automatic Sport timepiece as she aims for more greatness.

Speaking about the new partnership, Fraser-Pryce said: “It’s about pushing barriers. People have always told me what I could or couldn’t do, [so] I wanted to be part of a brand that knows about timing, where age doesn’t limit your progress.

“At the end of the day, we have the same vision as it pertains to our legacy. What we want to achieve is timeless.”

“She is a strong woman who combines sprinting with being a mother,” commented Richard Mille himself. “As if that wasn’t already enough, she finds the energy for her charity work and this all-round commitment totally reflects our values.”

Renowned for crafting high-priced timepieces, the Swiss watch company is recognised for enlisting top-tier sports personalities as ambassadors.

Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce now joins a distinguished group of track-and-field athletes associated with the brand, including Qatari high jumper Mutaaz Barshim, Belgian heptathlete Nafissatou Thiam, and South African sprinters Akani Simbine and Wayde van Niekerk.
