A mattress store called Miracle Mattress in San Antonio, Texas drew the ire of just about everyone this week after it posted a 21-second commercial to advertise a "Twin Tower sale" on its Facebook page. The ill-advised ad showed employees falling into two stacks of mattresses and knocking them over.
Miracle Mattress manager Cherise Bonnano promoted the store's sale by telling viewers there was no better way to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks than by purchasing any size mattress for the price of a twin bed.
The mattress company later deleted the commercial from its Facebook page, but you can watch it in the video above. After it went viral and started to cause outrage, Mike Bonnano, the owner of the store, posted an apology to the store's Facebook page on Thursday evening.
"I say this unequivocally, with sincere regret: the video is tasteless and an affront to the men and women who lost their lives on 9/11," Bonnano wrote. "Furthermore, it disrespects the families who lost their loved ones and continue to struggle with the pain of this tragedy every day of their lives. I am disgusted such a video would have been conceived as a promotional tool and even more incensed it was created and posted on any social media site that represents Miracle Mattress."
The company also posted this tweet apologizing for the promotion:

But despite those apologies , a tweet that the company sent out on Wednesday promoting the sale was still up as of Friday morning.
Another statement from Miracle Mattress owner Mike Bonanno Thursday said the store would be closing its doors "indefinitely."
