On 28 May, against the sun-drenched backdrop of Ibiza Old Town, Bombay Sapphire and the E1 World Championship delivered a showcase that perfectly captured the spirit of both brands. Fresh from E1’s recent Lake Como Grand Prix, where Will Smith’s Team Westbrook secured the victory, Bombay Sapphire arrived on the White Isle to celebrate innovation, creativity and the growing appeal of the world’s first all-electric raceboat championship. Whether through its expertly crafted gin, distilled using ten carefully selected botanicals from around the globe, or its commitment to creating immersive experiences around the sport, Bombay Sapphire continues to demonstrate why it remains a leader both on and off the water.
With the sun beaming down on hundreds of striking blue bottles, the event showcased not only the versatility of Bombay Sapphire, but also the energy created when art, design and sport come together. The event welcomed guests from the worlds of sport, entertainment, fashion and business—reflecting the growing relationship between competition, creativity and community.
In Ibiza, a destination that has been at the heart of global nightlife and electronic music culture for decades, the connection felt particularly fitting. The historic port in Ibiza Old Town was transformed into a rare showcase, bringing the cutting-edge RaceBird boats into close view. Among those in attendance were Douglas Booth, AJ Odudu, Bella James, and Annie Doble, founder of Annie’s Ibiza, alongside friends Laura Castro and Kim Troxler. Often regarded as Ibizan fashion royalty, they brought added glamour to an event that continued E1 and Bombay Sapphire’s tradition of star-studded experiences. Doble, whose latest collection was showcased at London Fashion Week 2026, unveiled a bespoke RaceBird inspired by one of her most celebrated designs, The Mercer Dress.
The E1 Championship is no stranger to celebrity backing, with teams owned by global icons including Will Smith, Tom Brady, LeBron James and Rafael Nadal. Combining elite sport, entertainment, innovation and sustainability, the Ibiza showcase also marked the announcement of Bombay Sapphire’s new partnership with Steve Aoki’s Aoki Racing Team—a fitting collaboration given the DJ’s long-standing connection to the island. The celebrations continued at ROTO, the stylish waterfront restaurant overlooking Ibiza’s harbour, where the guests enjoyed Bombay Sapphire serves while exploring the RaceBirds up close. We also had the opportunity to meet E1 pilots, step inside the cockpits and put their skills to the test on E1 simulators, offering a rare glimpse into the world of electric racing.
The event reflected E1’s growing ability to fuse sport, culture and creativity in a way few championships can, demonstrating that the future of motorsport extends far beyond the race itself—bringing these elements together in moments and connections that stay with you long after the action on the water ends.
