A man in a wheelchair reportedly bypassed the strict security at an airport in Mogadishu and was able to gain passage on a Somali passenger plane. Five minutes after takeoff, he is alleged to have detonated a bomb intended to inflict more harm than it actually did. The explosion blew a hole in the plane and the unnamed man was sucked out, but the remaining passengers did not die and the pilot was able to complete an emergency landing.

"An individual got onto the plane in a wheelchair and is suspected of being the suicide bomber," a Western diplomat told the Wall Street Journal.

According to the New York Post, authorities recovered his body 20 miles from where the plane took off. The explosion caused panic among the passengers and two sustained minor injuries. However, that seems to be the extent of the trauma.

A terrorist organization has yet to come forward and claim responsibility for the incident but authorities are investigating.
