El Chapo's Daughter to Launch Fashion Line Inspired by the Notorious Drug Lord

The line will be dubbed "El Chapo 701," a reference to El Chapo's ranking on a 2009 Forbes list of the world's richest people.

El Chapo

Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán has become an unlikely fashion influencer.

Two years after Barabas made bank off its "Most Wanted Shirt" design, the drug lord's designer daughter is attempting to profit off her father's name with an El Chapo-inspired clothing brand. It's a pretty well-timed venture, as the kingpin is in the midst of a highly publicized trial for drug trafficking, money laundering, and murder.

The Daily Mail reports Alejandrina Gisselle Guzmán, one of El Chapo's 10 known children, has spent the last several weeks promoting her brand called El Chapo 701—a reference to El Chapo's ranking on Forbes' 2009 list of the world's billionaires. Alejandrina has also launched the brand's official website, which features photos of the forthcoming designs. There's apparel pieces like T-shirts, blazers, puffer coats, and button-ups, as well as accessories like hats, leather belts, and iPhone cases.

The website describes El Chapo as a "humble seller of oranges with many goals and great ambition."

According to the Daily Mail, Alejandrina has four active trademarks under "El Chapo." She has filed three other trademark applications for "El Chapo" and "El Chapo Guzmán" over the last several months.
