An Oklahoma woman was arrested after one of her Pizza Inn co-workers alleged she had threatened to "shoot 400 people for fun."
Alexis Wilson, age 18, was arrested following an interview with local authorities Sunday, perKTUL. An AK-47 assault rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun were seized during the arrest. According to the report, the co-worker alleged that Wilson had made the aforementioned "400 people" comment and also mentioned shooting people at her former school, McAlester High School. Additionally, Wilson is said to have showed off videos of her shooting an AR-15.
"In today's times, you can't say stuff like that," Pittsburg County Sheriff Chris Morris said of the arrest. "Anytime something is said we are going to take it serious, and we are going to investigate it to the full extent and make an arrest, if possible, because we do not want any of our schools getting shot up. Nobody does."
Wilson, however, has reportedly claimed that her comments were made as part of an effort to convince the unnamed co-worker to not fear guns. She also said she would never engage in a school shooting.
Per jail records cited by regional outlet The Tahlequah Daily Press, Wilson was placed in custody at Pittsburg County Jail on a making terroristic threats complaint. During deputies' interview with Wilson, she agreed to show them phone-captured videos of her shooting guns. The phone was ultimately taken as evidence.
Wilson dropped out of McAlester High in the ninth grade and had recently attempted to re-enroll to take classes toward a GED. However, she reportedly "wasn't allowed" to do so. McAlester Public Schools superintendent Randy Hughes told reporters he wasn't aware of anything that would show a potential for a shooting incident, though "she had some problems" when enrolled.
