After Marketing Ploy Serves Purpose, IHOb Goes Back to Being IHOP

After a marketing ploy that saw them swap their 'p' for a 'b,' IHOP is back to calling themselves IHOP again.

After a brief and bizarrely scrutinized walk on the wild-side that got them trending on TwitterIHOb answered nationwide cries to cut the shit by turning the 'P' upright, and is now back to being IHOP again.

The temporary move that swapped out burgers for pancakes in the chain's acronym was ended on Monday, as announced by a tweet that might make you say "hey, great" under your breath:

We really abbreciate the burgerin’ loyalty, but we’re back @IHOP again.

For those wondering whether the move signifies that things didn't go well, @IHOP responded by saying that it did work by getting people to talk about the restaurant's burger menu, which is kind of tough to argue with:

The blan was to get beople talking about our new burgers. And it worked. Look at us, two silly pancakes talkin’ about burgers.

IHOP also acknowledged the fake name change in a tweet that cleverly doubles as a promotion for 60-cent pancakes. Here's some free ad space:

We’re giving away 60¢ short stacks on July 17 from 7a-7p for IHOP’s 60th birthday. That’s right, IHOP! We’d never turn our back on pancakes (except for that time we faked it to promote our new burgers) pic.twitter.com/KsbkMJhKuf

What a ride that was.
