PROMO: I Tried The Latest From Gillette

Because the season of the beard is over.

None

Listen, I’m not the most hirsute dude out there. Honestly, I don’t want to be. The beard trend is coming to an end, and I’m happy to stay clean shaven these days. It doesn’t hurt that I just upped myself to some next-level shaving products.

I’m using Gillette Fusion ProGlide with Flexball Technology Razor and the new 2-in-1 Shave Gel +Skin Care that goes with it. Together these two are making ‘clean-shaven’ a full on element of my face style. It’s not just not having a beard: it’s being smooth.

Maybe it’s all the ridiculous features of the kit that makes it such a factor in how I work my look. The Flexball pivots, so blades don’t skip or jump on my jawline or chin and with ProGlide blades, there’s literally no drag on my face. You can tell by the lack of irritation or the errant stubble I always get with cheaper razors. Its handle is as ergonomic as a high-end office chair. The gel is a swank prep set-up that includes a rust-proof base, no-mess dispenser and a volume indicator, so I can tell how much I have left. It really is prep that makes the difference, and this is the first shave station I like to keep out on the bathroom sink instead of inside the cabinet: its sleek and totally display-worthy. I’m even considering getting one of those little stainless steel mirrors on a stand to go with.

One more wicked thing that I haven’t had the chance to try out yet since my blade has lasted so long is Gillette’s new subscription service. I can get the new blades mailed right to my door.

That’s so smooth.
