Liam Gallagher Surprises Montreal Bar With Jam Session

He came, he drank, he played, he left.

Acclaimed songwriter and noted curmudgeon, Liam Gallagher, is currently in the midst of a global tour. The former Oasis frontman has been travelling the world in support of his upcoming album, As You Were, which is due out this October (a month before his brother Noel releases his very own project). To help promote As You Were,Liam stopped in Montreal this past weekend to headline the city’s annual Osheaga festival.

Thankfully, attendees at Osheaga were blessed with a full set from the Manchester artist, including a rare performance of the 1995 smash hit “Wonderwall”- which the younger Gallagher has been notoriously reluctant to play. Liam must’ve been in good spirits after his set, because the musician made a random appearance at a Montreal pub and surprised fellow patrons with a little jam session.

A video on the bar’s official Instagram page shows the Brit rocking out to some folk songs with a couple of lucky fans. In the post's caption, McKibbins Irish Pub employees called the event a big surprise. “You never know who shows up to the Irish Jams at McKibbin's on Sundays,” the text reads. “LIAM F$&%´N GALLAGHER, THAT'S WHO!!! He came, he sang, we drank, and just like that he was gone... awesome guy, surreal afternoon.”

You can check out some of the footage below via Facebook and Instagram. If you happen to be visiting China tomorrow, Liam Gallagher will be playing at The Olympic Sports Centre in Beijing.
