GEO has evolved into much more than a merch label since it first launched in 2016. The brainchild of Geo Owen, the eponymous line garnered quite the reputation across the UK streetwear scene.
Describing itself as a “visual intersection between human and physical geography”, GEO is perhaps best known for its standout graphics and denim fabrications, which aim to seek an understanding of the Earth, its humans, and natural complexities. Now, for Fall/Winter 2022, Geo Owen—a former DONDA graphic designer—shares the latest installment from his namesake label. Titled East, the collection looks to the label’s hometown of East London as inspiration and hones in on the eclectic dress sense of the local community.
Enlisting producer TenBillionDreams and DJ Kenny Allstar for the FW22 visual presentation, the collection itself comprises a wide range of apparel made up of custom wool fabrics and waterproof nylon fabrications. Designed and manufactured in East LDN, notable pieces include the matching Erosion silk set, a coach jacket that has been sliced with two patterns, and a graphic overcoat crafted from 500GSM Icelandic wool.
Eye-catching graphics feature throughout the collection, such as a panther silhouette that has been painted on both a denim jacket and matching jeans. GEO’s logo, which appears in various typefaces and colourways, is the only adornment on many of the pieces, like jackets and hoodies. Further hand-drawn graffiti and dubs prints carried across the collection are a reflection of the East London landscape and are previewed across tracksuits and oversized tees, while bucket hats and knitted balaclavas round out another selection of heat.
