I have a few things to say about Korean brand, thisisneverthat, so let's hit the bullet points:
-Talk about a corny brand name, but the use of all lowercase letters and no spaces makes up for it a bit. This exclusive use of internet-savvy type is a a bonus for any and all brands out there. Take note.
-We've only ever written about thisisneverthat one time before: A post from early 2013 where the photos are blurry and Moy didn't even link to the product at hand even though he says "click on over" in the last line. Blame Lawrence for that one.
-This shit is basically Raf Simons lite and by that I mean it's a bit similar to the Raf Simons aesthetic with some of the misplaced-but-definitely-calculated screenprinted type. The similarities kind of end there, but it's also much lighter on your wallet, if Googled exchange rates are to be believed. I mean, this as about as high of a compliment as possible despite how it may come off initially depending, of course, on how my written voice sounds in your head. This is not easy to do. Some people will probably be like, "Yo, they're biting Raf so hardddddd," but do we really care at this point? It's not Fabrixquare. I think we're good.
Seriously though, thisisneverthat's F/W 14 lookbook blends everything we like: intriguing screenprints, mostly neutral colors with some vibrancy thrown in for good measure, crazy outerwear with some shifted details and a little bit of streetwear-y, military-like stuff as well. It's basically an all you can eat buffet of today's modern street-driven fashion. The collection is called "Navy/Study." I'm not sure why. You can see those words printed throughout and, like, it looks pretty cool, so I guess it makes sense.
