Josh Agle celebrates Mad Men-era commercial art in his paintings.

Josh Agle, better known as SHAG, paints playful narratives about consumerism and hedonism. His latest works, collectively titled Animal Kingdom, open this weekend in Culver City, CA. The inspiration comes from 1970s animal costumes, which fit right into SHAG's overarching celebration of 1950s and 1960s commercial illustration. He says the new canvases follow a theme of a subconscious societal urge to return to our animalistic nature.
