Ceramics are the theme of Ai Weiwei's first solo exhibition in Italy. Produced in Jingdezhan, a region known for its tradition of ceramics manufacture, the work critiques the financial value placed on Chinese porcelain both antique and contemporary. As with all of Weiwei's work, the seriousness of the theme is undercut with a wicked sense of humor.
