Leaving summer on a high note to wind up tackling dreary fall weather can be a bit of a, well, downer. Who can’t help but to miss simple clothing and effortless style from these past four months? The wrath of cold weather is closer than it appears. To help prepare you for those icy months ahead, we’ve composed the following list of 20 Best Jackets for This Fall that will have you ready for any weather situation that you’re faced with. Trust us when we say that our jackets will help you survive fall weather, but most importantly, they’ll also add a nuance to your wardrobe. Effortless style is here to stay all season long.

The “Badass” Leather Jacket

Nothing in your wardrobe exemplifies how much of a badass you are (or aspire to be) than a leather jacket. Rag & Bone’s Vincent Jacket will definitely certify that attitude. The jacket’s soft matte finish and articulated sleeves are what we’re allured by. Wear it with or without the detachable shearling collar and you’ll still look like the one to not be messed with.

We admire moments when fashion and innovation come together—tastefully, that is. Marni’s double-layer parka is the ultimate successor of that mix. The front side unveils the jacket and its doubled-layered glory, ‘til it reaches the backside, when the layers attached themselves together. The unconventionality of this jacket will always have us on our toes.

The “Parka With Punch” Jacket

Our team wouldn’t fulfill our style responsibilities if we didn’t recommend the Men Mountain Parka from Uniqlo. Don’t undermine its simplicity; the parka is rugged enough to endure Mother Nature’s heinous behavior. It features a roomy hoodie, sealed lining, and adjustable cord along the waist for comfort.

The "Modern" Denim Jacket

As sentimental as this may sound, denim jackets will forever be near and dear to our wardrobe. They have the capability of reshaping the entire attitude of your outfit and how others may view it. Our favorite pick is none other than the denim jacket from OFF-WHITE c/o VIRGIL ABLOH. Unleashed in crème and black, the jacket features the well-known detachable “WHITE” script and stripe panels. Try wearing it on a mild weather day this season. Warm autumn days, just like this jacket, and hard to come by.

The “Wish We Were in Fast and Furious” Jacket

Rocking a leather jacket makes you feel like a true rebel (in case you forget, please refer back to the first slide). However, the “Rider’s Jacket” will make you feel like an undisputed hero. The washed Italian lambskin and cropped fit delivers the rugged look that it deserves. We only wish it came with a trophy and the glory.

The “Quintessential Quilted” Jacket

Quilted vests have steadily gained the attention of menswear trailblazers, but now they’re here and fully capable of adjusting to our style. The CPO Omar quilted vest from Urban Outfitters is the best of the vests—no pun intended. Along with its versatility, the vest is the perfect catalyst for igniting any muffled outfit. We prefer the shade of maroon.

The “Game Changer” Jacket

The Shirt jacket will forever be a favorite style of ours because it allows us to look fly both indoors and out. Take that, polar vortex! When it comes to shirt jackets, we’re particularly excited about the one we discovered from Stone Island. The lightweight jacket is designed with a nylon outer layer and flap front pockets for convenience, breaking the laws of nature one day at a time.

Before you run off to spend your bread on another parka or anorak, let us take a step back for a moment to admire the varsity jacket. The varsity has kept up with the trends for seasons, but the Leather Varsity by Band of Outsiders is not one to be missed. Made with smooth grain leather, the black and white stripes echo the collegiate spirit while the slim fit delivers the swagger.

The “Coolest” Full-Length Parka

Who appreciates a boring looking jacket? We didn’t think so. If you’re looking for a smooth parka to sport, we highly recommend you take a look at the Grey Hooded Parka from Y-3. Its simple interface, slanted pocket design, and intriguing zipper feature along the center has us dying to look cool while feeling warm.

Virtuous style is great and all but we wouldn’t mind dressing sinisterly. The flannel vest from Rag & Bone will help you play the bad-guy role with excellence. The vest’s two-toned shade and stealthy cut will have you feeling like the ill antagonist. Now tell James Bond that you expect him to die, Dr. No.

The “Anti-Labor Day” Jacket

We can no longer abide by the no-white-after-Labor-Day rule, especially when it’s getting in the way of our fly style. This 20th century principle formulated by the elite is not compatible with our swagger. To break this rule, we highly suggest the white Stockholm Raincoat from Stutterheim. The rubber texture and ceramic white shade will defy all the ancient ideologies and make you look shamelessly good.

We’ve stumbled upon a fair selection of suede bomber jackets but haven’t encountered any that is funkier than the one from Todd Snyder. Snyder revamped this timeless piece by modifying the overall details to make it righteous enough for your closet. The suede finish and dark navy hue gives it an easy transition for your work-to-leisure style.

Shirt jackets are undoubtedly one of our favorites for this season and the one made by Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons is not to be slept on. What we love about this jacket is the combination of assorted textures and embellishments that combine to craft a harmonious piece. Breaking the laws of both art and nature? We can dig it.

The “Everyday Double Layer” Jacket

We’re not sure that we can get enough of double layer jackets. As long as the keeps us warm and looking fly, we’re game. The good folks at Joe Fresh made a jacket specifically for our preference. The shell jacket is water resistant and double-lined, while the quilted jacket packs extra warmth when worn together.

Every guy needs that one jacket to help him accomplish his shenanigans during the fall. Whatever circumstances you confront, we won’t judge, but we’ll want to make you look good doing it. The Carhartt Nimbus Pullover was made for your scheming purposes. The polka dot print is muted enough to look discreet, and the nylon body is roomy enough for movement. This jacket will have you remain scheming.

In our search to locate the best jackets for the season we uncovered one that tends to be overlooked—the trucker jacket. Thanks to our homeboy Alexandre Plokhov, this rural American piece is shedding a new light. What we’re so crazy about this jacket is the suede trimming and dark wash blue denim. This jacket is impermeable in the city streets, but not so much at the truck stops.

The “Bomber Jacket of the Future” Jacket

We have an unhealthy relationship of modernity mixing with the classics—we admit it. When these two elements join forces we can’t help but to transform ourselves into hypebeast mode. The Zip Up Harrington Jacket from 3.1 Phillip Lim forces us to convert.

The “Lazy Boy” Jacket

There’s something about the season that stimulates the slothfulness in us. Whether it’s the fear of going out in the bad weather or the desire to catch up on Netflix, we’ve located the perfect coverall to assist your lethargic needs. The 100 percent vintage cotton coverall is made to keep you warm for your Breaking Bad marathon.

All things fleece and shearling are making a comeback this season with refreshing styles. No other jacket eludes this trend more than the Cav Empt fleece. The contemporary cut and soft surface makes it determined that fleece and shearling jackets are still in style.

As pumped as we are for the arrival of fall trends, we couldn’t help but show love for the Barbour jacket. Their latest collaboration with J. Crew has us infatuated all over again. The waxed cotton jacket boasts a few upgrades this season, including a shearling interior with a rustic hue.
