Dean Martindale Shares His Ten Favourite Photographs

This year we put Dean Martindale on our list of 10 Photographers Finding Success Outside Of Instagram, having originally gained his reputation working with online streetwear store END he decided to take a gamble and focus fully on his passion for photography, and it's safe to say it has definitely paid off.

It's almost like a dream come true and he's constantly moving up the ranks as one of the best photographers in the game. For him his camera and lens is just another part of his creative brain. Today, Dean shares with us his ten favourite photographs he's taken (up to this point in his career) and explains why each one is important, so scroll for the run-through.

"Probably my favourite portrait I’ve taken to date with Anna Carradice."

"The happy accident. I was playing around in the studio with a new camera and set it on double exposure, this was the result."

"Laundrette with Polly. This series was sick. The place had people doing their weekly wash and Polly just went for it."

Theophilus London for Coach. Shot at the London Edition Hotel. Played a round of pool with him. Really cool guy.

"Jurassic 5. An unreal gig… old school."

"Lily Bridger. We shot a year ago when she wasn’t signed, fresh faced, never even modelled. It’s great to see how far she’s progressed."

"Soccer at 1776ft. This was taken at the top of One World Trade Centre. The light was insane."

"Park life with Holly Horne. This was taken on my first summer since moving to London. I’m a sucker for natural light."

"That was my favourite shot from the PUMA campaign. I left the girls to do what they want when posing and the shot felt really natural. The setting was awesome too."

"The Floating Pineapple. Where do I start? This was taken in Malaysia; as I was taking pictures of my mates in the sea, this pineapple floated past. I though nothing of it. When I got back to the UK, I edited the colour and posted it online. Then it blew up and did the rounds on the internet. Poppy Delevigne got in touch and now has one. Urban Outfitters now stock the print which is mind blowing."
