Renzo Piano Unveils Design for New Paris Courthouse
In government, transparency is key.

In the City of Lights, as Paris is often called, of course you’d want a completely glass-enclosed structure to maximize that view. That’s just what architect Renzo Piano unveiled in the design for the new Paris Courthouse—it is a doozie.
Resembling the steel-grid-and-glass façade of The New York Times building he designed, renderings of this structure look even slightly scary, alien, and sci-fi as it looms in the Parisian night. The graduated sections of the building will house the many branches of the French judicial system that have previously been spread throughout the city—they will now all be under one roof.
