A Dutch artist has officially moved on from the fun type of wearable tech—remember the phone-charging varsity jacket?—and moved into terrifying Blade Runner-esque territory. Anouk Wipprecht's 3D-printed Spider Dress is equipped with an Intel module that can send the dress's six appendages into action.

The dress has a skeletal structure and is covered with motion sensors to track every movement. When approached too quickly, the dress' arms shoot out. If you approach the dress cautiously, though, the arms make "smooth, suggestive gestures," Wipprecht tells Motherboard. The dress uses a respiration sensor to react to the wearer's internal stress levels with the appropriate calm or aggressive response.

The dress will premiere at the Consumers Electronic Show on Jan. 6.
