Soulland has fans excited for large leaps forward as they took to Copenhagen Fashion Week armed with their SS20 menswear collection and debut womenswear collection.
If you've stayed up to date with the growth of Soulland over the past few seasons, you'll know that the brand has been taking big steps towards becoming a fully-fledged fashion-focused brand, ready to stand toe to toe with some of the industries heavyweights. Their most recent addition to this ongoing narrative saw them take to Copenhagen Fashion Week, in the brand's beloved neighbourhood of Frederiksberg for their first Runway show in over five years. Keeping the spirit of the city and its communities close to heart, the show was accompanied by a score comprised solely of Scandinavian music.
In creating the Spring/Summer 2020 collection, Soulland focused on the dynamics of being a pedestrian, putting a specfic emphasis on the power of walking. These inspirations provide a strong parralel to the everyday nature of the brand and its growing presence on the global stage, maintaining proximity to human movement and form to better shape the design and craft of both men's and womenswear.
For many the most exciting part of the SS20 show was the introduction of the brand's first womenswear venture, with Creative Director Silas Adler and CEO Jacob Kampp Berliner welcoming Mathilde Maalouf to the team as Head of Womenswear. Commenting on their debut womenswear line, Jacob Kampp Berliner noted: “The time is now right to finally launch our first collection as we have a strong team with the ability and ambition to elevate the task”.
