For years, the most significant Seattle natives to hit New York were companies like Starbucks, Microsoft or maybe, if you’re a 65 year-old white man who winters in the Keys, Tommy Bahama. Popular, sure, but not the most stylish assortment to rep Washington state. Thankfully, that all changed back in September, when retailer Totokaelo opened the doors to its first Manhattan location.
Totokaelo, which founder and CEO Jill Wenger launched in 2003 as a women’s shop before expanding into menswear ten years later, was already reaching a global audience from its Seattle home base thanks to its e-commerce business, selling pieces from designers like Rick Owens, Raf Simons and Patrik Ervell. But, the full Totokaelo in-person experience is another beast altogether—and now, it’s one that East Coast shoppers can enjoy as well.
With the dedicated men’s section re-opened after recent renovations, we’re even more convinced that Totokaelo New York is about to become your favorite shopping destination. In fact, here are 5 reasons why, along with an exclusive look at the revamped men’s space.
