Get To Know Haider Ackermann, Kanye West's Current Favorite Fashion Designer

None

How much do you really know about living legend and Kanye's current favorite designer Haider Ackermann? While his designs are amongst the most elegant and breezy in fashion right now, the designer himself remains pretty low-kew, when he's not hanging out with 'Ye and Tilda Swinton, of course. But if you want to learn a little bit more about Haider, Russian site Buro247 linked up with the designer to talk bout his lounge looks, preferred decadence equally in clothing and chocolate sweets and how he's in no rush to make a splash on social media. The Colombian designer has truly led a globetrotting life since being adopted by French parents that has informed his look and designs. Below are a few key takeaways.

On how his personal style doesn't match up with most men's brands:

I would like to be properly dressed and I would like to be exact and sharp in my appearance. But I am not one of those men. When I dress, I want to put the garment on and everything is here with me. It's basically a part of who I am. I'm not an anxious person. I have to feel at ease to feel comfortable.

On using current events as inspiration, but not always literally:

When you see the violence that is going on in the world, especially nowadays when you see what is happening in Tunisia and elsewhere, I think there is also a big urge for certain beauty. It puts our lives in balance. Because otherwise, where would we be? ... I don't think violence needs to be as literal as combat boots and rmy jackets. Violence can also be done with some elegance.

On avoiding Instagram for the time being:

I don't use Instagram, so I don't know that language yet. I put my creative energy elsewhere. But, I have nothing against it. For instance, I have this sweatshirt, which has the word "Dream" on it. And every time I feel moody, I like to put that sweatshirt on because that word just lifts me up a little bit. Strange, isn't it?
