Forbes "Most Valuable Brands" List Is Stacked With Fashion

None

Early summer is the time for yearly lists it seems and Forbes dropped its annual "World's Most Valuable Brands" compendium today, featuring some notable names and companies. Naturally, the tech sector cleaned up with Apple and Microsoft leading the way and Samsung, Facebook and Amazon cameos further down the list.

But the first brand on the docket from a fashion pedigree is Louis Vuitton at #14, despite the brand's troubles to redefine its somewhat stale clothing selection. Those monogrammed handbags must somehow still sell like hotcakes and I would assume it's also benefitted by being the "LV" in LVMH. Just a couple spots further down at 18 is Nike, who beats out Adidas at 83. Other notable names on the list: H&M at 33, Gucci at 42, Hermès at 51, Zara at 58, Prada at 74, Chanel at 85 and Ralph Lauren at 89.

That's a pretty broad selection of brands and just goes to show how big some of them are as global companies in comparison to some of our favorite Four Pins labels, which, in the grand scheme of things, mean nothing much like this website itself. But one thing is certain, fashion is very serious business. But we've known that all along.
