Alexander Wang has just released a new mix in support of his special pop-up shop currently happening in Tokyo. The designer linked up with New York-based DJ and producer Jesse Marco to create the hour-long mix which is based on the theme of the store, "Urban Survival," and features an eclectic selection of tracks from genres spanning hip-hop, trap, electro, and nu-disco.
The pop-up shop, located inside Tokyo’s leading department store Itesan, features a selection of items as varied as the mix itself. In addition to selected apparel from Wang’s current men’s and women’s collections and novelty items such as branded condoms and a leather hammock, the shop will also feature a special exhibit of the designer’s most essential personal belongings. This will be the second Alexander Wang pop-up shop at Itesan this year.
This isn’t the first time that Wang has worked with a DJ to produce a mix, having collaborated with Steve Aoki on one last month. Jesse Marco has also worked with a number of brands including Calvin Klein, Diesel, Nike, and Tom Ford. The mixes are available to stream online, with a limited number to be loaded onto USB sticks that come in special branded packaging, which Aoki recently showcased on his blog.
