When it was announced back in the summer of 2010 that Mark McNairy would succeed his good friend, Daiki Suzuki, as Creative Director of Woolrich Woolen Mills there seemed to be some trepidation underscoring the otherwise exciting news. It's hard to follow up, let alone replace, a cult figure such as Daiki, but in his third season with WWM, Mark really seems to be hitting his stride. For a designer with a DNA as unique as McNairy it can be difficult infusing a strong personal sensibility into a brand as storied as Woolrich. Nevertheless, Mark has effectively worked within this paradigm and created a worthy successor to Daiki's many well-received collections. Mark's F/W 12 collection for WWM is our favorite from him thus far because it delivers his strongest message yet - While it may say Woolrich on the label, there is absolutely no doubt that this is a Mark McNairy production.
