If losing at home is depressing, what does that make losing at home on your 11th appearance? Well, whatever that emotion may be, Kyle Busch is undoubtedly feeling it. Brad Keselowski notched his first Nationwide Series win of the year, with Busch finishing runner-up for the second straight year in the Boyd Gaming 300 at his native Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Keselowski built up a good lead in his Ford after a restart on lap 168, which was enough to stave off Busch’s mad dash in the closing laps. Busch started the race at the back of the pack due to an unapproved alternator belt replacement made to the No. 54 Toyota, but it only took 12 laps to see him fight his way into the top group. In the closing laps, Keselowski suffered engine issues due to a failing battery, but it wasn’t enough to rob him of the win. Keselowski has finished in the top three for the first three races of the 2014 Nationwide calendar.
