You need to watch this video, in which John Oliver ethers GM over abysmal handling of the recalls and crisis, and customer safety of the company's vehicles. The most horrifying thing is probably the leaked list of words that engnieers were banned from using in reports. They may not have been very professional, but they certainly look like a desparate attempt to get a serious problem noticed:

"Disemboweling"
"Evil"
"Genocide"
"Hindenburg"
"Kevorkianesque"

"Words or phrases with biblical connotation"

That's just a selection of the banned words from GM reports.
